主要从事仿生设计与机器人、机器视觉和复杂机电系统设计与控制等方向的研究。已完成数十项科研项目，包括国家自然科学基金、博士点基金项目、上海市创新团体项目、国家“863”计划等。国内率先研制成功全视觉高速贴片机、无菌牛奶包装机及其图像校正系统、高速高精度轴瓦在线测量分选机器人及粽子自动扎线机，获得发明专利10多项。曾获国家科技进步三等奖，教育部科技进步二等奖，上海市科技进步三等奖，上海市育才奖等奖励，发表论文九十多篇。任中国机械工程学会机械设计分会智能机械专业委员会副主任，国际期刊JCET机械工程和机械电子Topic主编，IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology，Signal Processing 等审稿人。

Shigang Wang is a Professor of Institute of Mechatronics & Logistics Equipment. His research interests focus on Self-reconfigurable robot, bio-robot, Sensor technology, servo control, and intelligent control, Vision-based object detection, localization and high-accuracy measurement. He has presided over more than 10 projects including National Natural Science Foundation of China, 863 Program, Shanghai Innovation Team Project and so on. He has received the National Awards (third class) for Scientific and Technological Progress, Scientific and Technological Progress Award (second class) of the Ministry of Education of China and Shanghai Award (third class) for Scientific and Technological Progress，etc.
